A moment in my life - Essay Example We typically go on trips every weekend, with either her friends or mine. One day in 2006, my friend asked me for a favor. I have a penchant for fixing cars and anything mechanical, and so when my friend approached me to fix his car, I was more than willing to do it for him. He went to the house with the car, and said, ââ¬Å"Buddy, I do not have the time and the funds to have this thing fixed. But if you promise to do it for me, weââ¬â¢d have a joy ride during the weekend.â⬠Being best friends for the past 10 years, I willingly obliged. It took me several hours of painstaking diagnosis and greasy work to have the thing fixed. ââ¬Å"Vrrrrrrrrrrooooom!â⬠, it finally went. Alas, the car was good as new. Excited with what I had accomplished, I ran to the phone to call Carl and tell him that the machine was ready for pick up. ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t forget the job ride!â⬠, I muttered. Shouting, he replied, ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s a date, and donââ¬â¢t forget to bring along your sister.â⬠Karl and my sister were best friends as well, and there were countless times when we were each othersââ¬â¢ confidantes. My sister willingly tagged along on that bright, Saturday. The weather was pleasant, and we all drove without even knowing where we were destined to go. The usual chit-chat made us forget about the time, and we were exhausted after three hours of laughter. Without much warning, the unexpected happened. A ten-wheeler truck was speeding at the other lane, and Carl tried his best to avoid it when the carââ¬â¢s breaks did not function as expected. In a few seconds, the car turned turtle, and I saw both Carl and my sister unconscious. There was blood all over the place. My sister had enough strength to tell me, ââ¬Å"Take care. Go get some helpâ⬠¦save yourself.â⬠I was in total panic and I could not feel anything. ââ¬Å"Theyââ¬â¢re here. Thereââ¬â¢s a conscious guy here!â⬠.
